It seems the only nudes allowed at New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art are the ones in the collection.

Police say they arrested a 26-year-old woman who was posing naked for a photographer, and in full view of visitors, in the museum's arms and armor department on Wednesday.

Model Kathleen "K.C." Neill faces a charge of public lewdness.

Defense attorney Donald Schechter says the museum is full of nude art, and to call what the model and her photographer were doing obscenity "is ridiculous."

Photographer Zach Hyman directed the shoot. He's been getting some attention locally for photographing nude models on subways.

Hyman has said he's inspired by nude paintings at the Met and his photos are not pornographic.

Paul Muthoot George, 30, son of Muthoot M George Group chairman M G George, was hacked to death around midnight on Friday. The incident took place on the Alappuzha-Changanassery road at Jyothi junction near Pongha, within the Nedumudi police station limits.

The police said that the gang which carried out the murder arrived in a tempo traveller.

It is suspected to be a case of business rivalry or a personal grudge, the police added. One friend of the deceased was also injured.

Manu, 30, Vilakam house, Petta, Thiruvananthapuram, has been admitted to the Alappuzha Medical College Hospital.

According to the police Paul and three friends, all hailing from Thiruvananthapuram, reportedly left for Alappuzha from Muthoot's Ernakulam head office around 7 pm on Friday in two SUVs - a Scorpio and a Ford Endeavour.

Paul drove his friend’s Ford Endeavour, the Scorpio was driven by driver Shibu Thomas.

They stopped at Muthoot's upcoming resort at Mararikkulam, then decided to stay at Muthoot’s rest house at Champakkulam and sent Shibu to fetch the key of the rest house from the Muthoot Cruise office at Pallathuruthy.

When Shibu returned he found that Paul and Manu had been attacked.

Two other friends who had accompanied Paul reportedly escaped from the spot in the Endeavour.

Shibu rushed the two to the Alappuzha Medical College Hospital where Paul was declared dead.
Shibu is in police custody.

The police suspect that the murder was the work of a gang according to a conspiracy hatched by the victim’s two friends who later fled.

Paul, a bachelor, was the executive director of Muthoot Group. He is survived by his father, mother Saramma, Principal, Muthoot School, Delhi and siblings George Muthoot George (executive director, Muthoot) and Alexander George Muthoot (director, Muthoot Group). Paul headed the hospitality sector of the company.

The body was handed over to relatives after an autopsy at the MCH here on Saturday afternoon.

The funeral will be held at St Mathews Orthodox Church, Kozhencherry on Sunday at 4 pm.

Prayer service will start at 3 pm in the residence.

2 cups raw rice, washed, dried completely and ground to a coarse pwd similar to sooji
4 cups water
1/4 cup Bengal gram / chana dal (soak in water for 5-10 mts and drain)
½ tsp cumin seeds (optional)
1 tsp ghee

Method:

Heat ghee in a pan and add the soaked channa dal and fry the dal for a second or two.
Immediately add water and salt, bring to a boil.

Once it reaches boiling point, immediately add the ground rice ravva and stir continuously
ensuring that no lumps are formed.

Once all the water is absorbed and appears like a big lump, cover and cook for 4-5 mts.
Turn off heat and cool.

Once cool, make big lemon sized balls of the cooked mixture.

A Hermit who encased his dead mother in a block of ice keeps himself in solitary confinement by threatening people, swearing at guards or simply refusing to leave his cell. Philip Schuth told a newspaper when he was sentenced to prison in 2005 that he feared other inmates and wanted to live in solitary confinement.

Prison conduct reports show Schuth, 56, has been working to do that, earning more than 1,400 days in solitary.

"He's somebody who just wants to be left alone," said Schuth's attorney, Michael Lieberman. "It appears in his mind keeping himself in solitary confinement is the best way to keep himself safe."

For decades Schuth and his mother, Edith, lived in a crumbling two-story house in the town of Campbell, a hamlet of about 4,000 people on French Island outside La Crosse. Children teased him in school and he never found real work, neighbors said. He often walked the streets in knee-high rubber boots.

Things came to a head in April 2005, when Schuth shot Randy Russell Jr. after Russell came into his yard to ask if Schuth had hit Russell's 10-year-old son. Russell fled and Schuth retreated into his house. An all-night standoff with police ensued. Schuth eventually surrendered without incident and Russell survived his wounds.

Police then discovered Schuth's dead mother in a basement chest freezer, frozen into a 200-to-300 pound block of ice. Schuth told investigators she died in 2000 of natural causes. He kept her hidden because he feared police might charge him with homicide and he needed her Social Security payments.

Schuth was the talk of La Crosse for months. One man even started selling car magnets that read: "What's in Your Freezer? French Island, WI" and "My Mom is Cooler Than Yours! French Island, WI."

A judge sentenced Schuth in November 2005 to seven years in prison and 10 years extended supervision for hiding a corpse, attempted homicide and recklessly endangering safety. The next summer a federal judge gave him four months, to be served simultaneously with his state sentence, for Social Security fraud. Schuth gave a bizarre speech in court laced with Latin, demanding more roles for actress Jennifer Garner and fewer for her husband, Ben Affleck.

Schuth told the La Crosse Tribune newspaper he didn't know how he'd survive attacks in prison and would try to spend the "rest of my life" in solitary confinement. Schuth entered the state prison system at Dodge Correctional Institution and was transferred to Green Bay Correctional Institution in January 2006.

He was transferred out of Green Bay in August 2007 and spent more than a year at another facility. Corrections spokesman John Dipko would not name the facility, citing patient confidentiality rules. He returned to Green Bay in November 2008.

He started demanding to live in solitary the day he got to prison, conduct reports show.

After watching an orientation video on his first day at Dodge Correctional in December 2005, he immediately told a guard he was a solitary person and asked to be placed in "the hole." He refused to go to his cell and got his wish: 90 days in solitary for disobeying orders.

Schuth has received 11 more conduct reports since for violations ranging from disobeying orders to leave solitary to making threats and being disruptive.

He got 180 days for calling a Green Bay guard a "Nazi flattop (expletive)" in May 2007. In August 2008 he got another 30 days for swearing at a guard at the unnamed facility.

"Having a hard time keeping in my emotions, true feelings about you people," he wrote in a statement in that conduct report.

On the day he returned to Green Bay he was written up twice for threatening to hurt a guard or someone else, and threatening to stab someone if he wasn't placed in solitary. He got 180 days for the assault threats and 240 days for the stabbing threats.

The most recent conduct report was dated April 2009. He got 90 days for refusing to leave his cell in solitary.

Lieberman, who defended Schuth in federal court, said Schuth is scared.

"This demonstrates a good example of why prison isn't really the place for people with mental illness," Lieberman said. "Even if you go back to the facts of his state case, without trying to minimize his conduct, he was living in isolation, wanting to be left alone. If he had been left alone, none of this would have happened."

Grover was elected Prosecuting Attorney of the Second Judicial District in Oregon in 1852; representative to the Territorial Legislature in 1853; reelected in 1855, and was Speaker of the House during the 1855-56 session; elected delegate to the State Constitutional Convention in 1857; chosen as the first representative of Oregon to the United States Congress, but served for only seventeen days until the conclusion of the 35th Congress in March, 1859. In 1870 Grover was the Democratic nominee for governor and was elected by a vote of 11,726 to 11,095 over his Republican opponent, Joel Palmer. Reelected Governor in 1874, holding office until 1877 when he resigned to become a United States Senator, having been chosen for that office by the Oregon Legislature in 1876. Throughout his career as governor and senator, Grover worked to exclude Chinese workers from Oregon and to modify the Burlingame Treaty of 1868, which encouraged Chinese immigration to the United States.

He supported the construction of locks at Willamette Falls in Oregon City, which, when completed, allowed river traffic from the lower to the upper Willamette and stimulated farm production by lowering freight rates. Even before the hearing began, things got heated with lawyers from both sides at loggerheads over an application to adjourn the trial. At one point, they even got into a shouting match.

Choy’s lead counsel Jagjit Singh sought for an adjournment saying he was recovering from a recent heart ailment and needed more time to study the documents which he had been receiving in stages.

Jagjit tendered medical certificates to the court to prove that he was medically unfit to proceed. He told the court that the documents he received included the marriage certificate, passport copies, e-mails and invoices.

Wong Kian Kheong is leading the prosecution team on behalf of the celebrity’s husband.

Wong sought for the trial to continue and told the court that he had proposed to Jagjit to conduct cross-examinations in late October to give him time to rest and prepare for the summons charge.

“This is a case of justice and should be expedited in the interest of the public and victim. I suggest a compromise in the interest of all stakeholders. There is no prejudice towards the accused,” he remarked.

To a question by the magistrate, Pushpa said she would make a formal application to challenge the summons and the constitutionality of Section 498.

“It is archaic and no longer has a place in society. It is a total affront to women to suggest that we can be so easily enticed and so stupid enough to be enticed,” she said.

Mohd Faizi adjourned the case to today and said he would deal with Pushpa’s application when a formal application was submitted to court. Jagjit, he added, could cross-examine in October if he felt unwell today.

A Man who wandered out of a Seattle park three weeks ago not knowing his name or how he got there has been identified by a newspaper reader as a former English teacher who taught in China.

The Seattle Times published the mystery man’s photo on its Web site, and reader David Akast called the paper Thursday to say he is Edward Lighthart.

The man — in his 50s and fluent in French and German — had $600 hidden in his sock when he flagged down a bus July 30 wearing khakis, a dress shirt and a blazer.

He believes he went to the University of Wisconsin in the 1980s, studied at the University of Chicago and Columbia University and lived in Paris, Vienna, Sydney and Shanghai.

Three psychiatrists who examined him in Seattle recently believe the amnesia is genuine.

Bushido Charleston SC is known for serving the freshest and tastiest seafood around, so Adam hits three local joints to test this statement for himself. First up is Hominy Grill, which Adam describes as a “true culinary landmark”. The menu includes such tasty items as boiled peanuts and she-crab soup, but it’s all about the shrimp and grits! Adam is so thrilled by the flavor that he hugs the chef after exclaiming, “It’s absolutely out of this world!”.

A trip to Hominy Grill wouldn’t be complete without at least seeing “The Big Nasty”. Ironically, this sandwich doesn’t sound nasty at all! It’s made with fried chicken on a biscuit with melted cheese and smothered in a ladle of sausage gravy. Now THAT’S Southern cooking!

Next up Adam heads to Bowens Island where “fresh” seafood is an understatement. They get their famous oysters from the mud flats just minutes away from the restaurant. Adam actually harvests his own oysters with a 60-year veteran. The steamed oysters at Bowens were able to redeem Adam’s love for oysters after the ‘Acme Oyster Challenge’ in New Orleans last season. (He ate 15-dozen oysters!).

The main event for this episode takes place at Bushido Restaurant. (Side note: did you know Bushido means ‘way of the warrior’?). There are over 100 sushi restaurants in Charleston, but none of them pack as much heat as this one. Adam is here to try the Spicy Tune Handroll Challenge: 10 sushi rolls that get hotter (spicier) as you eat. 475 people have tried this challenge and only 8 have succeeded. Adam has a pretty good track record for spicy challenges, but will he succeed? He just might if he remembers this solid advice, “Don’t smell it, just eat it”.

The Haryana government has decided to observe August 20, the birth anniversary of late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, as 'Sadbhavana Diwas.' An official spokesman said the theme of the 'Sadbhavna Diwas' was to promote national integration and communal harmony among the people of all religions, languages and regions.

Goodwill towards everyone and eschewing violence were the two main mottos of the Sadbhavana Diwas, he added. He said an all faith prayer meetings would be organised followed by administering of the 'Sadbhavana Pledge' on this day.

Appropriate measures would also be taken to organise programmes in Universities, Colleges and Schools ensuring that the solidarity pledge was administered. To promote this theme further, the state government has also decided to observe Communal Harmony fortnight from August 20 to September 3, the spokesman added.

A loaded Taiwanese oil tanker was on fire and nine crew members were missing after a collision with a Greek-managed bulk carrier in the Malacca Strait, Malaysian police said Wednesday.

"The collision happened last night in clear weather off Port Dickson. We have rescued 16 crew members, mainly of Chinese nationalities," local marine police chief Rizal Ramli told AFP.

"The 'Formosaproduct Brick' is on fire and is now listing on its left side. We fear it may sink," he added.

Rizal said a search was under way off the coast of Port Dickson south of Kuala Lumpur to find the missing nine crew members, adding that two of them were Taiwanese.

The police chief said both ships were heading to Singapore when the accident happened on Tuesday night. Accidents are rare in the narrow Malacca Strait, a vital artery for world trade.

"The bulk carrier slammed into the left side of the Taiwanese tanker that was coming from United Arab Emirates," he said.

Maritime officials said the bulk carrier was flying the Isle of Man flag and had left the accident area and was heading to Singapore.

Rizal said fire fighters were battling the blaze, adding that the ship was carrying naphtha and crude oil.

"There is some oil spill," he said.

Rizal said the 16 crew members rescued had been admitted to a hospital in Port Dickson, in Negeri Sembilan state.

At least 94,000 ships sail the narrow strait each year, of which 20 percent are Japanese vessels -- mostly large crude oil carriers.

In July, a Japanese foundation urged ship owners to contribute to the Malacca Strait navigation safety fund to help maintain buoys and other navigational aids in the strait.

"There is a potential for an accident to happen. If it involves crude oil tankers, there will be a major oil spill. This could disrupt international trade," Nippon Foundation chairman Yohei Sasakawa told AFP.

The Malacca Strait, one of the busiest waterways in the world, is vital to Japan's national interests as more than 80 percent of its oil passes through it.

John McLaughlin invented the modern Canada Dry version of Ginger Ale in 1907. Canadian, John McLaughlin graduated from the University of Toronto in 1885 with a Gold Medal in Pharmacy. By 1890, John McLaughlin had started in the soda pop business by opening a carbonated water plant in Toronto, Canada. He sold his product to local drugstores that used the carbonated water to mix with fruit juices and flavoring to create delicious sodas to sell to their soda fountain customers. John McLaughlin began making his own soda drink recipes and created McLaughlin Belfast Style Ginger Ale in 1890. McLaughlin also developed a method of mass bottling his Ginger Ale leading to successful sales. Each bottle of McLaughlin Belfast Style Ginger Ale had a map of Canada and a picture of a beaver (the national animal of Canada) on the label.

By 1907, John McLauglin had refined his recipe by lightening the dark color and improving the sharp taste of his first Ginger Ale. The result was Canada Dry Pale Dry Ginger Ale which John McLaughlin patented.

Of course, according to Catawba chief of police Cecil Cook (his nickname has got to be Bubba), Stepmomma was pretty messed up.

“According to the officers she was pretty high,” Cook said. “The officers took her to jail on public assistance … to make sure she didn’t cause problems to anybody or herself. The Mayfields came up [to the magistrate's office] and took charges out. She was arrested on those charges while in jail.”

Three Singaporeans topped their respective courses at Oxford University this year, in a rare and Oxford U2extraordinary showing.They did politics, philosophy and economics (PPE); physics; and law.And one of them is the grandson of Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew.

Li Shengwu, 24, whose father is Fraser & Neave chairman Lee Hsien Yang, took top spot in his PPE class of 240 students. Shyam Srinivasan, 22, was first among 70 who did physics, while Colin Liew, 23, scored first in law.

Liew’s achievement was reported in The Sunday Times on July 26. The three top scorers are among 13 Singaporeans who graduate from Oxford this year.

The trio’s achievement is unprecedented, said Chim Yi Hua, a fellow PPE graduate with Li. The former president of the Oxford University Malaysian and Singaporean Students’ Association said he could not recall such an unusual outcome in recent years.

“It’s not easy to top one’s cohort — not at all. To have three this year is very rare,” said Chim, 22. Added Li: “It’s one of those things where the element of chance featured a great deal in the outcome.”

Srinivasan said he was not overly surprised by the coincidence. “Singaporeans generally do very well in Oxford.”

Besides topping PPE, Li was named the top overall economics student across Oxford’s 30 colleges that offer PPE and 18 that offer a joint degree in history and economics. He received the Hicks and Webb Medley prize and £300 (RM1,710) in prize money for his achievement.

Li, who is not on a government scholarship, graduated from Balliol College. He attributed his performance in the examinations to the quick-thinking and cool head honed by many years of debating since secondary school.

At the college, he debated with Oxford Union, the university’s debating club whose famous past members include the late former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and former British Prime Minister Edward Heath.

Said Li: “Oxford exams reward people who can write off the cuff. In that sense, debating has some overlap with it. You need to organise information and come up with ideas quickly under time pressure.”

On Aug 5, he and a fellow Oxford debater won the European Universities Debating Championships, outperforming 163 other teams in the English as first language section.

His parents are both graduates of Cambridge University. His father got first class honours in engineering while his mother, corporate lawyer Lee Suet Fern, took a double first in law.

Lee Hsien Yang credits his son’s self-driven and independent nature for his achievements. “Whatever he’s done and accomplished, he’s done on his own and it’s very much to his credit,” he said.

Li returns to Oxford’s Keble College next month to pursue a Masters in Economics. He said: “I liked both philosophy and economics, but I’m specialising in my comparative advantage — I am relatively better at economics.”

As for Srinivasan, a former Indian national from Chennai who became a Singapore citizen in 2006, his interest in physics was sparked at an astronomy competition during his years at Geylang Methodist Secondary School.

The holder of an Overseas Merit Scholarship for teaching was “very stimulated and encouraged” by his tutors at St Hugh’s and hopes to inspire his students later.

“Physics isn’t a popular subject, but it has a lot to offer — the chance to probe fundamental scientific processes and how to explain things right from first principles.”

He will return after completing his Masters in Applied Physics at Columbia University in the United States, and embark on a teaching career after he does his national service.His passion for physics culminated in the Scott Prize for best performance in physics and £300 in prize money.

While the prizes are given out every year, none of the numero unos had aimed for the top spot from the outset. Said Li: “I knew academic prizes existed for top students, but I didn’t make it my goal. My only goal was to do as well as I could.”

Added Srinivasan: “In the end, it was the support from parents and friends, the little things, like a friend cooking for me during the finals, that helped us out.”

User agent switcher plugin for firefox

Steps:

1. Once you have download firefox and the plugin install the both first.
2. Once the plugin has been installed go to Tools --> User Agent Switcher --> Options --> Options
3. Click on the UserAgent tab on left hand side and click on the Add button.
4. On the Description field give any description. Say (Mobile browser)
5. On the User Agent field give the following.

Right now i am using winamp 5.32 just check out, this SHOULD work on previous versions. by default winamp can't play these file types. you might need some codec pack for playing quick time files like quick time alternative but nothing like this is needed for playing dat files.

go to preference >input>nullsoft DirectShow decoder>configure

Here you can see cnames of various file types like MPG,AVI etc. add DAT and then MOV. use semicolon in between two file extensions. then click ok.
now you can enjoy these file types on winamp.

1---> Windows Key + E and it’ll open the windows explorer for you.
2---> The second one I personally like it just hitting Windows key + R (it’ll open the run prompt) and typing three or more dots (…) and press enter.

Trick to Multilogin in firefox

Step 1:
open system properties(by right clicking my computer), choose tab advanced, click to environment variables button. in system variables section, click new. type this information to each textbox.

variable name: moz_no_remote(should be all small letter)

variable value: 1

press ok to close all windows.

step 2:
open firefox icon's properties(from desktop and quick launch). add extension -p to command line(like "c:\program files\mozilla firefox\firefox.exe" -p). press ok.

while starting firefox u have to create two separate profiles of firefox so that u can login to two accounts of any(orkut,yahoo,rediff or anything else).......
for three logins create three profiles of firefox.........
